Gia Minh Conic Company broke ground last Saturday on its Conic-Lang Co resort project with an investment of VND400 billion (US$25 million).The resort is situated on a 10-hectare area of Thua Thien-Hue Province’s economic zone and expected to be inaugurated in December 2009.Two other high-end resorts also began construction last December and should be in operation by 2010.The VND186 billion (US$11.6 million) Le Royal Annam Resort boasting 61 high-class bungalows on a seven-hectare area will be a fusion of traditional and modern designs, investor Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company said.Each bungalow will have between one and three rooms, its own garden and a swimming pool.Another high-end project is the coastal Everland Resort with a US$10 million investment.Its investor, Lang Co Eco-tourism Joint Stock Company, said the eight-hectare resort would include a hotel with 120 rooms and 37 five-star villas.
Foreign-invested projects
Singapore-based Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts has just received the investment certificate from Thua Thien-Hue Province’s People’s Committee for a $1 billion project, the largest ever eco-tourism resort in the province.The complex, to be built on 300 hectares of the Cu Du Peninsula on Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone, will be divided into four stages.The project is designed to contain seven high-end hotels with a total of 2,000 rooms, an 18-hole golf course, and areas for meeting and shopping.The luxurious resort is scheduled for completion in 2014.Another Singapore group, Cattigana, is planning to build a US$102 million five-star resort on Chuoi Beach at the foot of the Hai Van Pass and has just received its investment license.To be built on 100 hectares of the Chan May-Lang Co Economic Zone, the resort will contain 170 villas along with a bar, spa, and area for sport and cultural activities.The two-stage project is expected to finish sometime in the next three years.
